Dear Computer Lady,
I just went from Windows 98 to XP, and I have a question.
On my old start menu, once logged on I could go directly to my favorites list by just hitting start and clicking on my favorites list.
With XP, the only way I can get to favorites seems to be by going to my home page first. Is there any way to go directly to my favorite lists without having to go to my home page first?
Linda
Dear Linda,
In Windows XP, you can add your favorites to the Start Menu.
Just follow these directions:
1. Right click on the "Start" button and click "Properties". This will bring up the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" window.
2. Click on the "Start Menu" tab, and click the "Customize..." button next to "Start Menu". This will bring up the "Customize Start Menu" window.
3. Click on the "Advanced" tab, and look at the section labeled "Start Menu Items:"
4. Click to put a check mark in front of "Favorites Menu", and click "OK" twice to close both windows.
Your Favorites will now be listed in your start menu near "My Documents" and "My Computer".
