Dear Computer Lady,

Thanks ever so much for your newsletter ---- it has helped me greatly.

Is there a keystroke combination that will place the desktop on top when I am in another application?

I sometimes need it when in email or word to access an icon.  Now I minimize the work, call up the desktop, then maximize the work again.

Thanks!  John C.

Dear John,

Yes there is! I had to think about it a minute since I usually just use

the desktop shortcut on the Quick Launch toolbar.

When you are working in Windows and want to quickly go back to your

desktop, just press the Windows key (between the Ctrl and Alt keys with

a windows symbol on it) and the letter D.

To bring your windows back up like they were before, just press the

Windows key and D again.
