Dear Computer Lady,
I got a new computer with Window XP operating system. I want to check my resources
-
I know how to do this with my old computer that has Windows 98 operating system on it, but on my new computer I have not been able to figure this out.
Can you direct me how this is done? Thank you so much
Sharion -
Dear Sharion,
I used to use a clock program called Digiday Clock from VisionX software, that also showed me how much physical memory I have free. It always sat in a small bar near the top of the screen so I could quickly glance at it for the date, time and resources.
This is the way to view available system resources in Windows XP.
Click on "Start" then point to "All Programs".
Go to "Accessories" and then "System Tools".
Click on "System Information".
It might take a few seconds for the System Information window to appear, it is collecting information as it is loading.
In the "System Information" window, click on "System Summary" on the left and you will see a list of resources on the right. Total memory and available memory are among the resources listed.
