Dear Computer Lady,
You recently answered a question for me, for which I am very grateful.
But, now I have another one for you.
When my desktop is full with icons and I attempt
to add another one, where does it go? Like, is there a second page of desktop icons?
If so, how do I access it?
Please advise. Sincerely, George
Dear George,
Since your desktop is really just a folder, it can contain more icons
than will fit on the screen.
The best way to access the desktop folder and see a listing
of all the icons is to go directly to the desktop folder.
In Windows 98,ME and XP,
click on "Start" then on "Run". Type "desktop" (without the quotes) and click "OK"
This will open up the desktop folder for you.
If you cannot get the desktop window from the "Run" menu, and you are using Windows
95, 98 or ME, here is a slightly longer way to view the desktop folder.
1. Double
click on "My Computer", and double click on your C: drive.
2. Find the Windows folder
in your C: drive and double click on that.
3. In the Windows folder, find the desktop
folder and double click on it.
4. You should now have a window listing the items in
your desktop.

Dear Computer Lady,
I just read the request for locating "icons" on the desktop and although I do not know how it was done, my computer had an option to have a folder on my desktop of unused icons.
It is great. I can move them in and out by just dragging them. I do not like a cluttered desk or desktop...so this accomplishes what I want. I have XP.
Great newsletter, Jean
Dear Jean,
If someone does not have one of those folders, they can easily create one by right clicking on the desktop, clicking "New" and then "Folder".
Type a name for your folder and press "Enter" on your keyboard.
Now, you can drag icons to the folder and they will move inside.
