Dear Computer Lady,

I am brand new to computers.  Would you be so kind to give me step by step directions as to how to put pictures I have saved in Download onto a floppy disk?

I am very confused by the directions I have received so far, especially at what point I switch over to Drive A.

Thank you so much for your wonderful column, Dorothy

Dear Dorothy,

Saving pictures or files to a floppy disk is very easy as long as the files are small enough to fit on a floppy disk.

1. Put an empty floppy disk in the drive.

2. Open your download folder and right click on the picture you want to put on the floppy

3. In the drop down menu, point to "Send To" and a sub-menu will open up.

4. In the sub-menu, click on "3 1/2 Floppy A:"

Your computer will create a copy of the file on the floppy disk. You can repeat this procedure until the disk becomes full and then just put in a new, empty disk.

This will also work with a USB disk. When you right click on the picture, point to “Send To” and then click on “USB Disk”.
