Dear Computer Lady,

Thank you so much for your newsletter.  I have learned a lot of shortcuts that I haven't managed to figure out on my own over several years.  I do appreciate it.

My 2yo managed to add my desktop to my systems tray somehow. I got used to it, and even used it as a shortcut to add things I found in emails like yours to a notepad or WordPad I had saved on my desktop for this purpose.

For example, I have a notepad going for some recipes, and another for some of your tips I want to use right away.

Anyway, somehow I managed to drop 'desktop' from my systems tray.  Can you tell me how to put it back there?

Thanks ever so much,

Tina

Dear Tina,

It is actually quite simple to put your desktop icons back on your taskbar.

1. Right click on a blank spot on your taskbar.

2. In the menu that appears, point to "Toolbars".

3. In the sub-menu under "Toolbars", click on "Desktop".

That is all you have to do!
